Hello, I'm Saida WeBase Staff .
Happy Greenery Day Everyone.
Do you know meaning of the name?
Greenery Day stems from the Emperor Showa’s birthday on April 29.
April 29th was a national holiday called “The Emperor’s Birthday” until 1988, when the Emperor Showa passed away, and the name of the holiday was changed to “Greenery Day” the next year.
The name “Greenery Day” was chosen to commemorate the Emperor Showa, who had profound knowledge of biology and botany and was interested in preserving the environment.
In 2007, Greenery Day was moved to May 4th.
And April 29th has been a national holiday called “Showa Day.”
