【Hakata Gourmet Food】Hakata Kawabata Dosanko
Hello, this is WeBase Hakata!!
This restaurant is loved by the locals around the Kawabata shopping district. It’s called “Hakata Kawabata Dosanko.”
It’s such a miracle to have a Dosanko ramen shop near by.
As you may already know, Dosanko is a phrase originating from Hokkaido.
When you think of Hokkaido, you think of miso ramen. And although Hakata is known to be the holy land of tonkotsu ramen, this restaurant pulls in customers with their strong Hokkaido style
I had an irresistible urge for ramen, so I decided tp go in.
This is what the restaurant looks like from the outside.
It is about a five minute walk from WeBase Hakata found around the middle of the Kawabata shopping district.
I went on a Sunday evening wondering if they would be open. When I took a look inside, I was surprised to see that several seats had already been taken.
I can see it really is a popular restaurant.
This is what the inside of the restaurant looks like.
Isn’t it nice when you can see the cooking process?
The inside of the restaurant in very clean and the overall atmosphere was comforting!
This is the menu. There’s such a variety of options.
This time I went with the specialized miso ramen a well as a small bowl of white rice.
I thought, if I’m getting Hokkaido ramen, it has to be miso.
Yes, I am one that likes to get rice on the side when I eat ramen. I like to eat the rice with the remaining soup. It’s a very devilish way to eat that I enjoy all the time. I deeply apologize to those who do not eat ramen with a side of white rice.
Regarding my thoughts on the taste, it was delicious!
The miso base was not too thick, it was very easy to finish, and if you are concerned that it will be too heavy on the stomach, you have nothing to worry about.
Personally, the chashu (roasted pork) stood out to me . The texture of the meat was outstanding and left an impression.
And of course the pairing with the rice was amazing. There’s no way that the miso and white rice won’t go together. It’s times like this I’m so glad to be living in Japan.
I saw other customers eating the Yakimeshi (fried rice) and that looked really good too. I’m considering ordering that the next time around.
If you are ever in the Nakasu-Kawabata area, I really recommend checking it out.
