【Kitakyushu’s Kitchen】Tanga Market
Hello ☺ This is another place WeBase Hakata recommends checking out if you like food.
This time I would like to introduce you to Tanga Market.
I visited Tanga Market, located in an arcade shopping street in Kokura, Kitakyushu City.
It is one of my favorite places with a Showa era atmosphere.
How would you like travelling back in time with me?
This is from the store Hundred Year Old Bed “Usami Shoten”
These are blueback fish pickled in a bed of rice bran that has been carefully preserved for 100 years.
In addition to fish, there are also various vegetables pickled in this rice bran.
All of them are rich in flavor and full of nutrition!
“Ogura Kamaboko” (fish cake shop)
This is a fish cake specialty store established in 1920.
They portion only the amount of fish paste that will be used that day, and carefully manufacture it by hand.
The canapés that are the highlight of the shop are popular souvenirs as well♪
When it come to Tanga Market, I’m sure you have heard that Daigakudo is famous! (*^-^*)
You start by purchasing a bowl for rice and cooked from Daegakudo!
Then you can go around the market and buy ingredients for your rice bowl at the stores in the market and add more ingredients as you go.
Your own original rice bowl is ready to be enjoyed!♡♡
There are so many more places that I couldn’t introduce here.
Please take the time to see for yourself!( *´艸｀)
