For the first time in four years, the “Hakata Dontaku Port Festival” will be held without restrictions!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Since the spread of the Covid-19, the \u300eDontaku\u300f , as it is commonly known, had been canceled until 2021.<\/p>\n

Last year, in 2022, the event was held for the first time in three years on a reduced scale.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And this year, for the first time in four years, the festival will be held in the pre-Corona Disaster style, with no restrictions on viewing or number of people.<\/p>\n

The wearing of masks is at the discretion of the participants.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Dontaku is one of the largest festivals in Japan, with an annual attendance of over 2 million people.<\/p>\n

Even last year, when the event was scaled down, its attendance reached 800,000.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Everyone, young and old, male and female, can participate in the town-wide festival,<\/p>\n

Anyone can feel like a Hakatakko by participating in Dontaku, even if you are from outside of the prefecture or overseas.<\/p>\n

In\u300eHakata Matsubayashi\u300fwhich is the origin of the Hakata Dontaku Port Festival,<\/p>\n

To kick off the Dontaku, we will make a courtesy tour of the city on May 3 and 4.<\/p>\n
