IDEA

Our mission

Inspire the World’s Young People to Travel!

WeBase, Japan’s largest community hostel and hotel brand, was opened to serve as a hub connecting young people and travelers from around the world with local communities, and WeBase Hiroshima is its fifth location after Kamakura, Hakata, Kyoto and Takamatsu.

Conveniently located in central Hiroshima, it is within walking distance of the Peace Memorial Park and the popular Hondori shopping and nightlife arcade.

We aim to be a community-rooted hostel through which guests can encounter local Hiroshima culture and people and have many new experiences and discoveries.

Wherever you’re coming from in the world, we stand ready to welcome you with multilingual hospitality.

STRONG

Our strengths

A staff that speaks nine languages

WeBase staff are not only accommodation professionals, they are eager to interact with guests from different cultures and understand diverse worldviews. WeBase Hiroshima’s team is made up of people with various nationalities and long-term overseas experience, so ever since opening, we have welcomed guests in nine different languages.

Languages

Japanese, English, Taiwanese, Chinese, Korean, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish

Travelers from all over the world gather in the community lounge near the 1st-floor entrance under the watchful eye of the Ship’s Cat

The 1st-floor lounge is place for guests and non-guests alike to relax, have events and work as digital nomads. Designed to evoke the cutting-edge culture of Brooklyn, New York, it is decorated with murals and other artwork by contemporary artist Kenji Yanobe.

For example, the Ship’s Cat (Fortune) face and tail descend from the ceiling while raucous Ship’s Cat (Hiroshima story) visiting places throughout the city is depicted on the wall like a picture scroll, livening up this spacious area.

With smiling hospitality, the staff will answer any question you might have as well as connect you with other guests as a communication hub to bring you happiness. And in the unlikely event of a disaster, we can assist you with any language difficulties. Let us know how we can help!

Safety, Security

All rooms require keycards, the entrance is locked after 23:00 and the elevators and dormitory entrances are equipped with security, making this a reassuring place to stay even for solo female travelers. There are also women-only showers and toilets.

WeBase’s facilities and service has received high ratings on Booking.com, Google Hotels, Tripadvisor and other online review sites. We are grateful! And we will continue to offer a safe and secure guesthouse.

Cleanliness

The facility is new and our management is thorough, so we keep the showers and toilets clean. Our goal is for you to take cleanliness and attractiveness for granted at WeBase!

In addition to our classic WeBase dormitories, clean and comfortable even for solo travelers, the Hiroshima location also offers private rooms with queen beds, double beds, universal queen beds and other sizes for a wide range of group types.

Abundant amenities

With the entire building serving as a hostel, we offer clean, high-spec rooms and dormitories, striving to think of everything, even the little things.

The dormitories come with a range of furnishings like lockers, reading lamps and USB ports next to the beds for charging all types of devices. All rooms include bath towels, slippers, shampoo, conditioner and body soap.
