🎐 7月1日～15日開催『博多祇園山笠』

『博多祇園山笠』は、毎年7月1日から15日まで開催される、博多を代表する伝統あるお祭りです。

期間中は、高さ約15メートルにもなる豪華絢爛な飾り山が街を彩り、博多の街全体が祭り一色に包まれます。迫力ある人形や歴史絵巻を表現した装飾は、写真スポットとしても人気です。

🏃‍♂️ 7月10日からは「舁き山笠」が疾走！

7月10日からは、7つの流（ながれ）に所属する**舁き山笠（かきやま）**が博多の街を勢いよく駆け抜けます。

そして、**7月15日早朝の「追い山笠」**でクライマックスを迎え、祭りは最高潮の盛り上がりの中、フィナーレを飾ります。

🌍 ユネスコ無形文化遺産にも登録

2016年には、ユネスコ無形文化遺産にも登録され、世界からも注目を集めるお祭りとなりました。

📍 WeBase 博多の目の前でも！

7月10日～14日前後には、WeBase 博多の前の土居通りやその周辺を舁き回る姿も見学できます。間近で体感できる絶好のロケーションです。

また、「勢水（きおいみず）」と呼ばれる風習も見どころのひとつ。観客がバケツで勢いよく水をかけ、舁き手を鼓舞します。

水しぶきと全力で走る舁き山笠とのコントラストは圧巻。

🎐 July 1–15: Hakata Gion Yamakasa

Hakata Gion Yamakasa is held every year from July 1 to 15, transforming Hakata into a city of tradition, energy, and excitement.

During the festival, magnificent decorative floats known as kazariyama — standing approximately 15 meters tall — are displayed throughout the area, showcasing elaborate craftsmanship and vibrant historical scenes.

🏃‍♂️ The Thrilling Races Begin on July 10

From July 10, seven teams called nagare carry dynamic racing floats known as kakiyama through the streets of Hakata at incredible speed.

The festival reaches its dramatic climax in the early morning of July 15 with the grand finale, Oiyama, when the teams race with full intensity in a breathtaking display of strength and unity.

🌍 Recognized by UNESCO

In 2016, Hakata Gion Yamakasa was inscribed on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list, gaining international recognition as a cultural treasure of Japan.

📍 Experience It Near WeBase Hakata

Between July 10 and 14, you can witness the kakiyama being carried through the streets — including Doi Street right in front of WeBase Hakata and the surrounding area.

One of the most exciting traditions is kioimizu, where spectators splash water from buckets onto the kakiyama bearers to encourage and cool them.

The powerful combination of flying water, chanting voices, and fast-moving floats creates an unforgettable spectacle.
